Prof.
Sanja Vranes PhD, is jointly appointed as a Scientific
Director of the Mihailo Pupin Institute and as a Professor of
Computer Science at the University of Belgrade. She is in charge
for Fraunhofer-Pupin Joint
Project Office, established in 2003. From 1999 she has also
been engaged as a United Nations Expert for information technologies.
She received Dipl. Eng. Degree in Electrical Engineering and MSc
and PhD in Computer Science all from the University of Belgrade.
Her research interests include semantic web, intelligent agents,
decision support systems, multicriteria analysis algorithms, etc.
In these areas she published over 140 scientific papers. She serves
as a reviewer of respectable international journals, like IEEE
Transaction on Computer, IEEE Intelligent Systems magazine, etc.
She was a visiting professor at the University of Bristol, England
during the 1993 and 1994 years. In the period 1999-2004 she was
a Scientific Consultant at the ICS-UNIDO, International Center
for Sceince and High Technology in Trieste Italy. She also served
as a project leader and/or principal architect of more than 20
complex software projects. Currently, she coordinates one EC Sixth
Framework project and serves as a team leader in two other FP6
projects and two Interreg/CADSES projects. She is a member of
IEEE, ACM and AAAI. She is a member of Serbian Academy of Engineering
Science and National Science Council.
