description
PC-based robot controller EDUC-03 is a modern low-cost robot control system, which is developed for easy and comfortable control and testing of various robot and mechanical systems. EDUC-03 control software is executed on the standard PC-AT386 or 486 computer, with three additional PC in-board cards for sensor support. Use of the multi-tasking software organization EDUC-03 permits simultaneous control of 6 robot axis. PC-AT as control hardware and EDUC-03 modular software design enable the controller configuration to be tailored to the specific application. Supported by an arithmetic processor, the 32-bit processor technology provides a high computing capacity, resulting in optimum cycle times for robotic applications and an extensive range of functions at very low cost. The choice of PC computer as control hardware guarantees that robot control system will always be relied on the state-of-the-art computer architecture, i.e., your robot control system will be following development of the PC technology. Open and modular architecture of EDUC-03 system, means that the controller can be universally employed for a broad spectrum of tasks, such as spot welding, assembly, handling(e.g., press interlinking), gas metal-arc welding, laser welding and cutting, waterjet cutting and some special applications as in experiments for improving and testing various control algorithms for very fast robots. EDUC-03 system provides two global levels of modularity: hardware modularity, which supports exchange or upgrade of computer components and, software modularity for supporting harware modifications. The state-of-the-art, future-oriented structure of the hardware and software guarantees simple expandability, short time adaptation to some special application requirements, easy support for new sensors at low cost.
