Aleksandar D. Rodić was born in Belgrade, Serbia, 1960. He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia in 1985, and his M. Sc. as well as Ph.D. degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Belgrade, Serbia in 1992 and 1998, respectively. From 1987 he was with Robotics Laboratory, Mihajlo Pupin Institute as a research engineer. Currently, he is a Scientific advisor and a project manager in the Robotics laboratory.
In 1991 he was UNIDO/UNDP Research Fellow in the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems (IPK) – Berlin, (Germany). Two times, in 2001/2002 as well as in 2005 he was a guest scientist as an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow in the Institute for Traffic Safety and Automation and in the Institute for Applied Mechanics, at the Technical University of Braunschweig, (Germany). Twice, 2004 and 2006, he was Visiting professor teaching graduate courses of applied bio-mechanics, robotics and non-linear dynamic systems at the University of Reunion, St. Denis, (France). He won a Special annual Yugoslav award for the best technical solution in 1998, nominated by CIP - Yugoslav Institute of Traffic Management.
Dr. Aleksandar Rodić is author of one reserch monograph published by Ibidem-Verlag, Stuttgardt, (2002). He is author of more then 50 research papers published in corresponding international high-impact scientific journals as well as in proceedings of the leading scientific meetings. He is an invited reviewer of more scientific journals in the field of interest. He is a member of the scientific council of Mihajlo Pupin Institute.
Dr. Aleksandar Rodić was assistant professor and lecturer for undergraduate and graduate courses from robotics and active control of dynamic systems at the Department of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia (former Yugoslavia), and Visiting professor at the Technical University of Braunshweig, Braunschweig, Germany (2001/2002, 2005) and University of Reunion, La Reunion, France (2004, 2006).
From 1999 he is a project manager in his laboratory. In his carrier he has actively participated in more international, scientific projects supported by UNIDO/UNDP, European Centre for Peace and Development (ECPD), Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, etc.
His professional activities include R/D in different fields of software engineering (system identification, modeling, simulation, control, etc.). He is author of two specialized, multi-tasking software toolboxes: DVL+ (Driver-vehicle in the loop - a specialized software for advance modeling of automotive systems) and, HRSP (simulation platform for humanoid robots).
He speaks English and German.
