Sollar cells for exportation

The presentation of the innovative project „THE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION OF PHOTOVOLATIC SOLAR CELLS ON SILICIUM MONOCRYSTALS“, which was carried out in cooperaton with the Innovation Centre of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Ltd, Belgrade, was held two months after the production line of photovolatic solar cells had been put into operation at the Institute „Mihailo Pupin“. The results of this project were presented to the guests from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Mining and Energetics, Energy Efficiency Agency and Serbian Chamber of Commerce. These results include completely domestic technology and serial industrial production of photovolatic solar cells on silicium monocrystals with the capacity of 200.000 photovolatic solar cells per year (diameter 3“).

Even though there is no significant demand for these products in Serbia, they are in short supply abroad, so the complete six-month long production in the world was sold out in advance. It practically means that the sale of the solar cells produced at the Institute „Mihailo Pupin“ could be almost guaranteed.

With the realization of this programme, our country has reduced the falling behind developed countries in this field to the certain extent. Due to the domestic technology which was developed and mastered by our experts, with the production line capable of generating the turnover of finished products, we have got the conditions to improve the acquired technology by further investment into research and development and to get a better product in a few years  as well as to compete with the best in this field  in the global market.
