Lecture on Data Mining

Dr Aleksandar Lazarević, who currently lives and works in the USA and United Technologies Research Center gave lecture on Data Mining in Security Applications in our Institute.

Aleksandar Lazarevic is currently a Senior Research Scientist at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), in Connecticut, and a Principal Investigator for several data mining projects at the UTRC. His research interests include data mining, security applications, parallel and distributed computing.
He received B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1994 and 1997 respectively. He received the PhD degree in Computer Science from Temple University in 2001. He has co-edited the book "Managing Cyber Threats" published by Springer in May 2005, and authored more than 40 research articles. He is serving as a technical char for the NASA Conference on Intelligent Data Understanding in September this year in Washington, DC. He also served as a Co-Chair for the Workshop on Data Mining for Cyber Threat Analysis at the IEEE International Conference on Data Mining 2002, as a Publicity Chair for the SIAM International Conference on Data Mining 2003 and 2004, and as a Program Committee member on more than 30 prestigious data mining conferences in the last few years.

He has also given a few tutorials on anomaly detection and data mining applications in computer security at several premier data mining conferences. He has been funded by ARDA, NSF and NASA. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.
