Visit of students from Idvor – Pupin’s birth place

Pupils of the last year of the primary school in Idvor – Pupin’s birth place, visited our Institute on June 26 accompanied by their teachers and director. Children saw the movie about Institute and learned something about the Institute’s R&D activities and scope of work.

During the visit it was declared that the Institute is going to give grants for further education to the best pupil finishing primary school in Idvor.

This year it will go to Natasa Pupin - a distant relative of our great scientist Mihajlo Pupin. According to her teachers she is the best student that school has ever had. This grant will be awarded to the best student in generation each year from now on. We hope it will be another impulse for children in Idvor to study harder.

Employees who have worked longer in the Institute certainly remember visits to Idvor and the gatherings that were organized every year on the occasion of Pupin’s birthday. Unfortunately, during the years of crises in our country, this tradition was broken and the common opinion is that it would be nice and valuable to restore it again.
