| The
Project Council and the Ministry of Science and Environmental
Protection have granted a portion of 2006/2007 National Investment
Plan's funds to the Mihajlo Pupin Institute to acquire and implement
the mySAP ERP
enterprise software solutions. Since this capital project requires
considerable computer and network capacities, the Institute
has also been allocated the resources to complete its DATA Center
by purchasing a high-reliability, 4 TB storage, failsafe Cluster
server providing uninterruptible 24-hour operation and high-reliability
and high-availability Cisco network equipment, with VPN connectivity
and global system protection and TREND Micro antivirus and monitoring
software. |

 |
Institute's
Computer Engineering's team operationalizes successively DATA
Center and network segments. A Caterpillar UPS providing the
DATA Center with 30 kVA uninterruptible power supply (8-hour
autonomy of operation) was delivered in late May. |
 |
A
team consisting of the Institute's experts and S&T Company's
consultants was formed in May this year to implement the mySAP
business environment. The following stages have been completed
so far:
1.
mySAP teaching
programming environment has been installed and work on the
following modules has been started:
|
|
•
FI (Financial Accounting)
• CO (Controlling)
• MM (Materials Management )
• SD (Sales&Distribution)
• HR (Human Resource)
|
 |
2.
Project leaders have been appointed, workteams formed, and initial
training of team members to work with SAP modules has been completed
over the last two months. Project scoping has been specified.
3. SAP-Solution
Manager, a methodological support tool providing more efficient
implementation of SAP solutions, has been installed and configured.
4. Detailed design
of SAP implementation project is currently in progress. Since
some additional business functions that must be included in
software support have been identified during project scoping,
it has been agreed to expand the project scope by the following
programs: business trip processing submodules and PS (Project
System) module to be funded by the Institute.
