Serbia is
relying once again on Institute Mihailo Pupin to modernize
its motorway toll system. Serbia's state Road
Directorate is responsible for 662 kilometers of motorway
under toll collection. In response to growing traffic problems
and to improve efficiency, the decision was taken to modernize...
IMP has won the tender for the modernization of the existing
road management system in the competition of global players
in this field, German Siemens
AG and Austrian Kapsch
Group. Not only that IMP’s pay toll solution
turned out to be the most economical one, but it was found
by tender committee to be the most technically complete,
as IMP was the only bidder to offer combined payment methods
within the same lane controller (cash, credit card and
electronic toll collection) as well as the full cryptoprotection
of all the data exchanged within the system.
Institute Mihailo Pupin will be supplying electronic tolling
equipment for around 100 stations. Modernized Serbian pay
toll system will feature specialized systems for automatic
toll collection and vehicle categorization and it will support
various modes of non-cash toll payment. |
