Through a Joint Project Office (JPO), the Mihailo Pupin Institute is uniting ICT expertise and resources with prominent German R&D organization, Fraunhofer-FIRST from Berlin. At the JPO, systems engineering and information technologies are combined to develop innovative solutions in the area of management information systems, knowledge and content technologies and applications, e-education, decision support systems, etc. A wide range of services has been provided. The service scope covers customized IT solutions, software outsourcing, technology consulting, engineering, prototyping, and system design and integration. The JPO assembles a team with the best mixture of expertise appropriate to that specific engagement.

Current projects

JPO team is currently involved in three running FP6 projects (SARIB, PROMETEA and Web4WeB). Besides, we are engaged in two Interreg/CADSES projects (I2E and STRiM) and two bilateral research projects (cooperation with Greek and German partners). In these projects, the areas of our occupation are: semantic web, semantic knowledge representation & processing, natural language processing, intelligent DSS, spatial DSS, web services and service-oriented architectures.

Previous projects

JPO team has acquired an extensive research experience through more than twenty successful projects in different areas: decision support systems, artificial intelligence, expert systems, complex web applications development. As results of these projects, the following software products have been developed: BEST, INVEX, RAIL-Invest, FIDES, PEGAS, IVP, Bonitet, CITRA, SUSDEV, CyberSCHOOL, WiseChoice, RIO, ClearWater, BioAS, SPORE, etc.
