Fraunhofer FIRST, Germany

 

The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Architecture and Software Technology (FIRST), Berlin, Germany, develops innovative technologies for the analysis, realization, evaluation and simulation of complex software with a high IT content used in traffic, medicine, environmental protection and the media. Institute is a part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, leading European R&D organization assembling more than 56 institutes and around 13.700 researchers across Germany.

 

Cooperation Scope

 

Fraunhofer FIRST and Institute Mihajlo Pupin opened a Joint Project Office, co-sponsored by the International Office of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Serbian Ministry of Science, Technology and Research. More info...

 


Raytheon Canada Ltd.

 

Raytheon Canada is a world leader in many high technology fields, offering leading-edge solutions in air traffic control and air-space management, systems integration solid state primary radar systems, high frequency surface radar systems, high precision optical products, highway free-flow all electronic toll collection systems and services and support of avionics, simulators, and airborne radar.

 

Cooperation Scope

 

IMP has tailored Raytheon’s Air Traffic Control System to meet specific needs of Belgrade airport. The whole project had very tight deadlines, as Serbian ATC system needed an urgent upgrade to be able to handle the peak in air traffic over Serbia that was expected during the Olympic games in Athens.

Our experts took a part in specification of the modernized ATC system, as well as in its integration, installation, testing and quality control. We have also trained Agency for Flight Control’s stuff to use the new equipment. In the same time our engineers have fully developed, manufactured and implemented consoles for Raytheon’s ATC equipment. System was put in operation within 10 months (commonly similar projects take 24 months to realize). Further maintenance of the system is also Institute’s responsibility.

The group provides its clients with technological solutions for nuclear energy production and electricity transmission and distribution. AREVA also offers interconnect systems, principally in the telecommunications, computer and automotive markets.

IMP is tailoring AREVA’s control system implemented in Serbian Power Utility.

 

 

Motorola Application Partner Program

 

Institute Mihailo Pupin has joined Motorola Application Partner Program through cooperation with on of the most active Motorola’s authorized distributors of Professional Radio series (two-way UHF/VHF radios) in Eastern Europe and Russia.

 

Cooperation Scope

 

Motorola’s Application Partner Program for Professional Radios aim is to enable Motorola’s products to be sold into applications where standard radios do not meet all the requirements of the end user. By entering this Program Institut Mihailo Pupin has gained opportunity to develop add-value optional boards that comply with Motorola’s specifications and thus provide additional services for Professional Radio users. First line of products that we have developed within this Program is a line of crypto modules for securing conversation over UHF/VHF radio link. Our partners will include our Motorola option boards in their offer, and give us the opportunity to access a broad market through their distribution channels worldwide.

Our solution has enabled such a geographically distributed organization as BASF is, with over 50 sites on 5 continents, to unify investment management process across the entire organization and to create its worldwide IT budget in efficient and optimal manner.
